Aimed at offering the highest quality dance classes in South Yorkshire, Clayton School of Dance & Performing Arts in Thurnscoe is a leading dance school with a team of fully qualified and experienced dance teachers. Our main aim is to offer students the opportunity to learn co-ordination, rhythm, self-discipline, self-confidence and social skills in a happy, friendly and exciting environment. The school was established in 2001 by principal Deborah Clayton, a fully qualified registered teacher with the I.S.T.D (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) and R.A.D (Royal Academy of Dance). Find yourself and lose yourself with dance
Classes are offered in ballet, modern, tap, tiny tots, acrobatic arts, street dance, musical theatre, pilates, yoga and fit steps. Students are taken from 2 years and upwards with boys and girls both welcome! Adult classes are also offered in Pilates, tap and fitsteps. Students are encouraged to take examinations with the I.S.T.D. and R.A.D, however this is not compulsory. Results in recent years have shown that the school has exceptional standards with an excellent 100% pass rate. Come and try out any of the variety of classes we have to offer and you’ll be sure to find your style! The studio is all about having fun with dance and taking it as seriously as you want it to be!

Miss Clayton (Principal)
From the age of 6 years, Deborah Clayton was dancing and performing in Telford, Shropshire. At the age of 16, she trained at the Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre in Liverpool on a three-year intensive teaching dancing training course.
Deborah has worked extensively in dance and choreography for many years. She started her professional career as a dancer and has completed many contracts worldwide. She was dancing professionally in Japan and later danced and choreographed on some of the largest cruise liners in the world. On returning back to the UK, she spent three years teaching at various dance schools in Shropshire and in 2001 she fulfilled her life long ambition to open up her very own dance school.
The entire team at Clayton School of Dance & Performing Arts are committed, professional and passionate about the school. Deborah's wealth of teaching experience and love of dance ensures the well-being of each pupil is in very capable hands and every class is enjoyable and inspiring.
